NEWS RELEASE 10th December 2014
Dementia Friendly and Here Now Dementia have been awarded a grant from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation to deliver a new 8 week course for people with dementia.
My Dementia is a free course open to people with a recent diagnosis of dementia or those who want to find out more about their condition.
We frequently meet people with dementia who have many questions about what is happening to them; about dementia itself; and about concerns for the future.
My Dementia seeks to answer these questions and to provide an opportunity to learn alongside others in similar situations.’
says Damian Murphy, My Dementia co-leader.
Starting in February 2015, the My Dementia course will take place in York and covers the following 4 broad themes:
- ‘What is Dementia?’
- ‘Keeping Connected’
- ‘Planning for the future’ and
- ‘I’m still Me’
