Getting Along at the Scottish Caring and Dementia Congress

Time for a new approach. Following increasing interest in the  Getting Along© Programme, I’ll be presenting at the Scottish Caring and Dementia Congress next week on 20th April

Getting Along presents a  relationship-centred approach to dementia care.

Here’s a link to the programme http://www.careinfo.org/scdc-2016/

It is of special interest to providers and commissioners of dementia care services in all sectors and includes a new video featuring participants of the recent ‘Getting Along©’ pilot.

I will rant about the mismatch of agendas, the stress and burden model of care and tea and sympathy but will also get you to:

J Think about addressing BOTH sides of the care giving relationship

J Explore a new supportive practical  approach around the time of diagnosis
